1930 Ford Model A Flathead V8 Hotrod
This Ford Model A Flathead V8 Hotrod, came to Belcher Engineering with the remit of getting it back on the road (service, health check, commission), having been stood up for 2 years after the owner had it built.

The car itself was built by another garage in the UK, with the engine coming from a well known flathead engine building company in the USA.
However all was not well with the engine, as water was discovered in the oil. After some investigation this turned out to be a head gasket failure. With further inspection the engine had not been build to the standards that we would have deemed acceptable with several of the water runs bunged up. This would ultimatly lead to more pressure coming through the other open water ways and showcases that the engine was not built to a standard we would expect/hope.

The heads off both banks were removed and skimmed and we did our best to clean out the waterways without taking the engine out (which would be more effective, but significantly more expensive).
New Head Gaskets fitted and correctly torqued down and the car was ultimately then back on the road and drivable.
The owner requested some further modifications to the vehicle whilst it was with us, including adjustments to the gear lever position and full suspension tracking was carried out.
