This bolt has a longer shoulder that must be machined 1/16" for use on old steel drums. These bolts must be swedged under 30 to 40 tons of pressure & should be done by an expert at a machine shop. The longer shoulders are designed for the cast-iron drums

1928-35 Original syle hub stud with the flat sides.

This classic Ford hub bolt operates on a fundamentally different principle than contemporary studs. Rather than threading into place, it passes through the hub aperture where hydraulic pressure crushes the shoulder against the brake drum, fusing the two components into an integrated unit—a design hallmark of pre-war automotive engineering.

Features a 0.56" shoulder diameter that requires the A-1109-T installation tool—a 25-ton hydraulic press system—to compress the shoulder firmly against the brake drum for permanent assembly.

Note: These bolts have longer shoulders for cast iron drums. The shoulder must be turned down for use with original stamped steel drums.

Compatible with Model A Ford front applications, 1932–35 Ford front and rear positions, and 1937 Ford car and pickup rear axles.
